Purple Pastel

The last and final outfit from my summer pastel lookbook is this purple lace and ruffle dress from Francesca's. Lace and ruffles create a very feminine look especially when pared with pastels. Out of all six pastel looks, this purple one has to be my favorite. This color complements me so well.

I paired this dress with dark royal purple heels to make it a more bolder look.  It was fun creating a rainbow array of pastel outfits for this summer season.  The rest of the dresses are on my blog.

Blue Pastel

Pastel blues and hues!

I chose another mural in the Wabash Arts Corridor for the backdrop of my summer pastel lookbook. This mural, "Bloom to Doom", has an array of dark blue and purples which was a great background to make my blue pastel dress stand out. What really makes this outfit pop is my bright pink fuchsia Aldo heels.

From Bloom to Doom by Collin van der Slujis, a renowned artist from the Netherlands. The artwork shows a woodpecker and a yellow headed black bird amongst blue and purple flowers.

Green Pastel

Cute as a cupcake! Continuing my summer pastel lookbook with this mint green dress from Sail to Stable. The white detail on the dress reminded me of frosting so I accessorized this outfit with a cupcake purse from Kate Spade. This delicious purse is part of a collaboration with Magnolia Bakery and Kate Spade. The frosty pink lipstick is from Mac Cosmetics match the frosting on my cupcake purse. All of these details contribute to the sweet dessert theme of my outfit.

Yellow Pastel

The third outfit from my summer pastel lookbook is a yellow pastel dress from Calvin Klein paired with a cute phone shaped purse from Betsey Johnson, and a pair of white BCBG heels. What really makes this look pop is the phone shaped purse. It adds a fun element and some personality to the whole outfit.

I spent the morning exploring the Wabash Art Corridor in Chicago that is filled with colorful murals done by local artists. The mural in the background is titled "Impossible Meeting" by Marina Zumi. The cool colors of the art work were a great backdrop to contrast my pastel yellow outfit.
